CATEGORIES:
- Finished Beaded Jewelry- “Great Garnets”-One necklace or bracelet that is uniquely created with basic stringing techniques and utilizes 1 or more of the following materials, predominantly purchased at Red Garnet Beads & Buttons: glass, gemstones, pearls, precious metals, buttons, crystal, bone or wood.
- Seed-bead Beadwork- “Seed-Bead-Works”- One piece of wearable jewelry created using any stitch, weave, braid, or stringing pattern you choose with seed beads and/or bugle beads as your predominant material.
- Non-wearables-“No-Wear”- One piece that is three-dimensional or pictorial in creation made using any bead related media, stitch, weave and/or pattern that you choose.
- Wire Working- “Wire Works”- One piece made predominantly from precious metal and/or craft wire (no stringing wire, crimp tubes, cord, silk, etc. may be used). Beads may be used but must be strung and/or wrapped using wire as defined above.
- Theme- “Lost & Found”- One piece created using only recycled, reused or vintage (1950’s or earlier) materials. This category is open to your creativity. Materials can be from the garage, the thrift store, a nature hike or even grandma’s jewelry box (as long as you ask her!). The only restriction is that all materials must have had another purpose or life before the one you create. (a necklace you strung last week and re-worked this week is NOT a “Lost & Found” Entry! Be creative!)
